]]> A one day course which demonstrates and prepares candidates for the National Occupational Standard QCF194 (SQA Unit Code HA1J 04) Fix and secure memorial masonry award assessment.

The morning session includes a comprehensive study of Industry Standards and their relationship to BS 8415. In the afternoon there is a practical demonstration of memorial fixing.

The fixing assessment can take place at the end of the course or at a future date.

All course documents and guidance notes are included in the course fees.

This course is available for individual candidates or as part of a group.

This training course is now mandatory for those candidates wishing to achieve our SQA J1N8-45 Manage and Maintain Cemetery and Burial Ground Memorials Award.

The successful candidates also receive a photo ID card showing they are fully qualified Memorial Safety Inspectors.

The Course covers a wide range of factors including: The Law, Planning, Personal Safety, Identification of Memorials, Risk Assessment, Recording of Defects, Dealing with failures and Making Safe.

A comprehensive Training manual and supporting course documents are included in the course costs.

It is a one day training course which covers safe lifting techniques, moving stones using rollers and other means, setting up a lifting gantry, how to operate the gantry and block and tackle corectly, how to safely use and how to use other lifting aids to kift and move memorials or parts of memorials and how to use the gantry and block to re set memorials or parts on memorials in place.
